Half Moon Table Makeover
Transformation using homemade chalk paint, old hymnal pages, and lace.
I finally got around to painting this cute little table that I've had for years. I love these little tables that fit nicely against the wall. But it needed a bit of a change.
This is the before and after. I'm sure you've all seen one. There are many out there!
After painting the table, I arranged the hymn sheets to best show the titles of the songs.
Then I put a small piece of frog tape to keep it all together. I was hoping it wouldn't rip the paper after taking it off. It didn't rip the paper but it did take the ink off a bit. It actually added to the vintage look. I pressed a crease along the round part of the table to have a line to cut from.
After cutting the excess paper off, I applied a small amount of Mod Podge on one end of the table and pressed the hymn sheets down a bit at a time, until the entire top of the table was done.
I applied several coats of Mod Podge to the top of the pages being careful not to rip and to smooth out any wrinkles.
I added lace to the flat sides of the table and I like how it looks.
I painted the table with homemade chalk paint, sealed it with a clear wax, and then gave it distressed look using dark wax. For more information please go to my blog.
