Sometimes you can bring and old out of date table back in style with just paint. Do you have furniture that is solid wood that you hate to part with? Well then this diy is for you! With some simple paint I took this old wood table and gave it a new life, With grey, black and white being so trendy I Decided on a charcoal gray. Let’s get started

This is the wood table and in pretty good shape but missing a few wood buttons to cover the screw holes on the side I’ll show you how easy you can update and fix that issue. I pick this up at a garage sale for only $5 I just couldn’t pass it up because it’s solid wood and sturdy

With a can of this rust oleum chalk paint in charcoal I will give this old table a new look. The beauty is I had this on hand this chalk paint works perfectly on many projects.

I just covered the top and sides with the chalk paint using a chip brush I sis not cove the wood spindles for a fun painted and wood look

As you can see it’s in pretty good shape so I didn’t have to do to much but I would just give a little sand using a piece of light grub sand paper just to make sure nothing is on the surface. Also I only paint in one direction to give a nice full coverage

Since the table a few screw hole caps missing you can purchase these wood buttons covers to cover and give it a finished look as the furniture gets old it never fails you find some missing always a bummer but a really easy fix

Usually you can just push in but if it tight just use a small hammer and give a light tap. They do come in different size so get the appropriate size for your table or furniture piece.

  1. Here it is done I i’m leaving the spindles and little legs the natural wood being the table was in very good shape but I think the gray just makes it have a little more updated look. what’s your thoughts? You can see all my butt holes are covered there was missing about five so really kiss and a nice finish look.

Here is the front

And after with a few decorations it’s updated and looks great in my space

Up close you can see I painted left to right for a nice clean finish

I love how using just a little paint this table has a new life. The two tone now gives it more of a mid century vibe. Hope I inspire you to use or keep those old sturdy pieces around for just a few more years! See more at Gilbert Marketplace on YouTube or Facebook for more simple idea’s

Lol! I thought I did a tutorial on this but I didn’t this is all black Slate titles. I did behind cabinets and the whole wall. I love the wall not sure I love as a backsplash but it was hard to match with my leather granite. If you cook I wouldn’t do it harder to clean because of texture but I’m ok since I don’t really cook lol! I laughed I’m that girl also so I like to always have a clean house because of this haha 😂 maybe because I’m a designer my eye don’t miss a trick
