When our daughter was born, we bought a crib and stuck it in our guest room/office. At the time, it was a practical space-saving solution. Now that she is an energetic 2.5 year old we decided it was time to ditch the crib and make her room feel like her own space. A few simple touches, like a fresh coat of paint, a rug, a small table, and a new bed, really helped her room to feel like a special place just for her.
First we removed the guitar hooks and spackled the holes
Taped around outlets to keep our paint job neat
We also taped around our baseboard and ceiling.
Time to paint! Covered the floor with tarps and poured the paint.
Pro tip: While waiting for the spackle to dry, we painted around it to save some time.
Paint the corners first with a brush before using the roller. You'll get a smoother look.
All done! We let it dry overnight with the windows open to get the smell out.
A new bed, a rug, and a coloring table, and this room is now my toddlers favorite place in the house!
