Incorporate Old Windows in Your Furniture Making

I pick up old windows any time I can. They are so useful with my rustic style of decorating but I especially love to build furniture using the wooden grid windows. I used an old aquarium stand that I found at a thrift store to create this console table/curio cabinet/buffet table.
I painted the body of the brown stained wood in a dark forest brown color by Behr.
These are the feet that are made with 2x4's and 1x's.
When they are painted the same color you would never know they were new to the piece.
For more detailed instructions you can view the included link. Make these simple feet and they can go on almost any piece of furniture.
It was really lucky that I had windows that almost fit perfectly. I just had to cut them down about a 1/4 of an by using my table saw.
The top is made with three slats of 1x's that are cut to fit the width of the table. I love using ebony stain lately - its so rich.
The original front side is now the back and the doors actually open.
I used polycryic to seal the entire piece. I can think of lots of ways this cabinet could be used....buffet, console, sofa table, kitchen storage (white dishes would look amazing in there). What do you think it could be?

Great job @Down to Earth Holly, I love the look of it. Do the windows open in the front or do you have to access it from the back?

@Mary Byrne the windows do not open. They are too big for the original frame of the aquarium stand. The doors at the back still open. :) THX!

Great job! I have a bunch of old windows and have been trying to figure out what to do with them. I think this is an amazing transformation.

@Sue@CountryDesignHome The options are a wide range with old windows. Lucky for you that you have some. :)
