I love to take something that is usually a trash items and make it into something amazing. I have been saving these paper tubes from a table set we got because I knew they would make something wonderful and be a ton better than in a landfill.
Gather some paper tubes (pringles cans, toilet paper tubes, paper towel tubes, packing tubes, etc), burlap, ivory cardstock paper, and twine.
Cut strips of paper to go up the sides of the tubes, so if the tube is 6 inches tall your strips need to be 6 inches tall. Vary the width of the strips to you can see the tube below. Ink the edges for a little bit of color or leave them plain if you wish.
Use some adhesive to make your strips sticky, I used my Xyron Creative Station Lite to turn all the strips into stickers.
Stick the strips of paper to the sides of the tubes leaving gaps to see the tube color below.
Add some burlap trim in the colors of your choice to the tops of the tubes and to hold it on use some twine for a little extra bit of flair.
If you keep the colors neutral you can can use these for all kinds of season from autumn, Christmas, valentines day, and so much more!!!
Here is a step by step process on how to make these fun decor tubes.
You can use these tubes for a variety of purposed, just as they are, as a flower vase (I inserted a little plastic bottle inside the tubes to keep the flowers fresh), storage containers for pens, pencils, or markers. Really the sky is the limit on what you can add to these pretty decor tubes!!
