DIY No Sew Roman Shade (With 5 Minute Step by Step Video)
looks like you have a lot of tutorials so I won't add another one. But I just wanted to give a tip since I have made roman shades before. Since I was making a lot of them for a sunroom with 10 WINDOWS (ahhh) I had to cut costs. When I was buying materials, I found that the string and rings sold at craft stores and Joanne Fabrics were so expensive!!! It was ridiculous. I decided to get all my materials at Home Depot. To cut costs, I used discounted off-white sheets that I spray starched instead of expensive fabric and I got string from Home Depot and used washers instead of those expensive plastic rings. Just an idea I wanted to throw out there.
Hello Mike,
Use a pole to hold the blind, slip through with a pocket hem or pin to pole. Hem the bottom of your blind. Attach TWO Ribbons or Ties (one each side of blind) about 6" from outer edge, by folding them in half lengthwise and fixing them to the top of the blind with a Pin etc. Letting one half of tie hang in front and the other half hang behind the blind. Tie the ties to the length required for the blind, and there you have it! You may want equal distance between the folds in which case, sew tiny seams into the blind across the width!
