Put the silver items in a bowl of appropriate size and cover them with white distilled vinegar. Add baking soda into the bowl – the approximate proportions are 4 tablespoons of baking soda for every cup of vinegar. Leave the silver in the mixture for 1 hour. Rinse with clean water and dry well with soft cotton cloth.

Baking soda and toothpaste works for me
Hello Alt. You can clean your silver using this method: line a bowl with foil, add one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of salt. Pour warm water in the bowl and stir. Put your silver piece into this solution. It must come into contact with the foil. Leave it set for a couple minutes. Then rinse with clean water. Lay your item out on a clean dry towel and allow to dry.
Hope this helps you clean your silver. Quickly restore your jewelry or tableware with vinegar, water and baking soda. This cleaning agent is a great option for many things including your tarnished silver. Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl of lukewarm water. Let the silver soak for two to three hours.

I use silver polish. Some of the dip methods will take away some of the patina that is embedded in the engravings. Yes polishing is a pain....but that's my go to method.
When I inherited by grandmother's silver cutlery from the 1950's it was very tarnished. I purchased several large bottles of cheap ketchup and put them in a plastic tub filled with it to cover. After soaking a few hours, I washed off.

Hi, there are many cleaning hacks on cleaning silver from home cleaning products. I would recommend aluminium foil and laundry detergent. This will work wonders for slightly tarnished silverware and silver jewellery. All you have to do is line a pot or a bowl with aluminium foil and add hot water. Add a tablespoon of laundry detergent (liquid) and stir until mixed. Place all your silver into the bowl and leave for a minute. Take your silver out using kitchen tongs or spoon, rinse it with warm water and leave to dry on a paper towel. The tarnish on the silver will be gone, and a natural shine will have been achieved. There are a lot more hacks that you can try at home - https://cleaning-express.com/how-to-clean-silver-at-home/
These are many ways to clean your silver, try one of these:
No more tarnishing with aluminum
Boil 4 cups of water, a tablespoon of baking soda, and some aluminum foil. Place silverware in for 10 seconds then remove with kitchen tongs.
Ketchup isn’t just for eating
Tarnished silver can be polished with ketchup using a paper towel – for silver that has crevices, use a toothbrush.
Kill two birds with one stone
When using Windex to clean your windows, spray some on a rag and use it to scrub your silver.
Brush your silver with toothpaste
Use circular motions to brush non-gel and non-abrasive toothpaste onto silver. Leave on for five minutes before washing off with water.
Use soda for tarnished silver
Fill a plastic bowl with lemon-lime soda and place slightly tarnished silver in it for one hour. Rinse and dry with a paper towel.
