Easy Hydrangea Centerpiece and Alfresco Fall Table

Add the warmth of copper for fall and find an easy method to create a flower arrangement.

I had a monthly flower arrangement / blog challenge to use copper for a flower arrangement as copper adds warmth and pairs beautifully with autumnal colors.

Limelight hydrangeas are making their fall metamorphosis and turning pink. I cut some from the garden as their pink color would pair beautifully with copper.

Fall is a great time to plant shrubs in your garden! If you're looking for an easy to grow, low maintenance shrub that will provide you with beautiful cut and dried flowers too, read How to Grow Limelight Hydrangeas, HERE.

To create my table centerpiece, I started with a copper beverage tub that I already had. I added acrylic drinking cups to the container for quick and easy flower arranging! I used plastic grocery bags to keep the cups from shifting and in place once they’re filled with water and flowers.

This is an easy method to fill a large container with flowers. It also allows you to remove and replace any spent blooms and easily change your water to prolong the life of your flower arrangement. You can use any large basket or container, adding individual cups or jars to hold your flowers.

The hydrangeas have woody stems, so to help them ‘drink’ I used a vegetable peeler to remove 3 – 4 inches of the outer bark to help them stay hydrated and retain their fall pink color a little longer.

Then it was just a matter of filling the cups with hydrangeas until the cups were concealed.

Here is the easy arrangement and centerpiece for my fall alfresco table. You can find more photos and fall flower inspiration at the original blog post by scrolling down to the blue "go" button below.
