I made this wreath using items I purchased at our local Dollar Tree. I think it's a spooktacular way to welcome all of your trick or treaters to your door!
I bought three bunches of flowers, a twin-pack of spiders, and a glittery skull -- all for $5 from my local Dollar Tree.
I had an old fall wreath that had seen it's better days after many years of use. It was orange/brown, etc., but I spray painted it with black paint. I tried to cover as much of it as possible, but I couldn't get the under neath parts of some of the leaves and thought I would go back after it dried to catch them.
After the paint dried, I decided I liked the orange/brown leaves peaking through the black. I think it gives it a "dying" look appropriate for Halloween! First I used two strands of battery-powered fairy lights with five hour timers, winding them around the wreath and tucking them under the leaves as needed. I cut teh flowers off of the bunch so I ended up with individual flowers. The wreath I was using was made of straw so I used a screwdriver to poke holes and then inserted my flowers. I used fishing line to secure the skull and spiders.
I love it!
