Who loves Summertime crafts? I do! Who loves almost FREE crafts? I certainly do!

Save your empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls.

Now, let's grab your empty paper rolls and get crafty!

To make the rockets, you will need:

Empty paper rolls

Scrapbook paper

Wooden skewers

Tinsel

Scissors and glue

and for the fire crackers:

Empty paper rolls

Scrapbook paper

Pipe cleaners

Tinsel

Scissors, glue and hole punch

Let's make some rockets first.

Step 1: Cut a strip of scrapbook paper that measures 4" x 6" and wrap it around the paper roll.

Step 2: Glue both ends of paper strip to the roll.

Step 3: To make the top of the rocket, cut one 4" circle. Cut from edge to center one time like this.

Step 4: Fold one side under the other to form the point. Glue ends to hold

Step 5:  Glue top to paper roll.

Step 6: Cut wooden skewer to 7" and glue to the top at the point. I used a small amount of tissue paper to hold the skewer in place while the glue dried.

Step 7: Glue a small piece of tinsel to the end of the skewer for the sparks.

Tahdah! Rockets for your decor!

Now lets make some fire crackers too!

Step 1: Start the same as above with wrapping the paper roll in your scrapbook paper of choice.

Step 2: Cut (2) circles from heavy card stock at 1 3/4", one for each end of your fire cracker.

Step 3: Punch a hole in the center of one circle.

Step 4: Cut a piece of pipe cleaner to 5" and insert it into the hole you just punched. Bend over the bottom end and glue to circle. I used a skewer to curl my pipe cleaner into a curly stem.

Step 5: Glue both circles to the ends of paper roll and then add the tinsel to the pipe cleaner for the sparks to finish.

Now you're ready for the fourth of July decorating and you have almost free decor to decorate with!

You could also make a patriotic banner with your rockets or fire crackers too!

See how I made these 2 x 4 star blocks right here.

I hope you try these too! It's so much fun to just sit and create.
