I love making craft projects out of items that would otherwise end up in the trash. Since my husband and I love to drink wine, we always have a lot of left over wine corks.
Today, they ended up getting used for a fun Valentine's day Heart Door Decoration. I can't use a wreath on my front door, since it has a glass panel, so this type of longer decoration is what I make now.

I used a plywood cut out heart and glued pairs of wine corks together. When the heart was formed I painted the corks in various shades of red and pink.
Corks, a heart shape, some ribbon and paint plus a hot glue gun were all I needed.
For the final steps, I decided to add a bow and leaf decoration on the bottom edge. You can see the whole tutorial on my holiday blog.
