Spooky Halloween Candles Using Silicone Molds And Paper Clay
Halloween is my second favorite holiday!💀🎃👻
Christmas being first of course!🎅🎄🦌
So when it comes time to decorate, I'm all in!
Finnabair and Redesign With Prima have some awesome fall and Halloween molds and transfers that I've been playing with.
These candles turned out so stinking perfect! In my opinion at least. And, it's super easy to do!
Here's how........
*Time listed is for work time only, does not include dry times
*Price listed is estimated for the amount of product used, not the intitial price of the products
First, gather your supplies...
You'll need -
A plain LED candle
Finnabair's Skull And Bones silicone mold
DAS Air Dry Clay or Creative Paper Clay
Corn starch
Wood glue
Paintbrushes
And black paint
Dust the mold with corn starch and tap out any excess
Grab some clay and squish it in your fingers for a bit to warm it up, then press it into the mold. Be sure to press it down well into all the little details, remove any excess clay and clean up the edges.
Then flip the mold over and slowly peel it back so that the clay applique pops out. You might have to carefully help it along if it is sticking to the mold
Then carefully flip the clay applique over in your hand so the backside is facing up. Drizzle a bit of glue on the back and then use a paint brush to spread a light even layer all over. Then carefully place it down onto the candle. Very gently press the clay down so that it's adhering to the candle. Try not to press too hard so that you don't get fingerprints in the clay.
Allow the clay to dry for about 12 hours or until hardened. Using a fine tipped paint brush, carefully paint the applique
Then add batteries and enjoy 😊💀
This was such an easy project and with the variety of silicone molds available, you can create some unique candles for any time of the year!
You could even brush the painted clay applique with some gilding wax to make the details really pop!
