Witches Need Brooms Too
I wanted a sign to go with my Flying Lessons sign for Halloween. I came up with wording and printed it out in Word. I then used carbon paper to trace the letters onto my painted board and used a paint pen to fill in the letters.
I screwed this board onto the back of my board so I could hold it
down in order to use the router.

I used orange spray paint and black acrylic paint for the lettering. Having a machine that makes stencils would be so nice!
If you're going to rent brooms, then you better have brooms! I found lots of dead branches for the handles and in our pasture we have smut grass that dried and looked perfect for straw. I cut the grass in bunches and tied it to each branch with string. Wal-la. Brooms for Good Witches Only.
I also got "carried away" with the broom idea and made a mini broom to hang with decorations. Same procedure on a smaller scale and I decorated with ribbon after I tied the grass with string.
I made all of the brooms last year and stored them and they hold up well.
