To create this cool gift, all you need is a wood burning tool and a panel of MDF wood. Design something that sums up his personality and start wood burning! Unleash the pyrographer within and produce a wonderful creation using the steps below.
Sketch out your design on paper first.
Next, copy your design onto the MDF panel.
Screw the narrow tip onto the wood burning tool and plug into a power socket. Wait a few minutes until the tool heats up.
Carefully trace over the pencil lines on the panel. The longer you burn on a spot for, the deeper and darker the mark will be.
Wait until the tool has cooled down, then replace the tip with a fatter one.
Colour in the drawing by lightly burning within the lines. An uneven pattern enhances the wood effect and gives the MDF panel a playful feel.
Rub out any pencil marks before surprising your Dad with his personalised gift.
