How large is the dog and how high can it jump?
Put gates where there are openings, but it may depend on the size of the dog and how high they can jump
You could use plexiglass, or heavy-duty netting or screening.
Hi! Baby gates and mesh between the slats should work. Depends on the size of the dog and their escape methods. Good luck!
High railing. If he can jump it, I’m at a loss other than training.
Hello. A gate might be a safety suggestion to consider. Is the dog small enough to squeeze between the pickets?
Does the deck already have some sort of railing? How high is that? Do you have gates on the deck? How big are the dogs? There size directly effects the size of slats required.
we used baby gates
You could tether your dog on the deck.
You'll need a baby gate or gate, but if they dog can jump over it that may not help. I don't know if an invisible fence would perhaps be an option.
We have a porch with railing and posts. The dog is thin so he fit between the posts and jumped off the porch. We put plastic lattice over the posts and made a gate out of it to deter him from getting off the porch.
I guess it depends how big your dog is.. And type of rail system you have. Pics would help
Add chicken wire to around the railings at the bottom up tie with zip ties
How zealous is your dog? Are you monitoring your dog while it’s out there? Our dog is low key and always supervised around this gate I built: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2019/05/puppy-gate-deck-style-anew.html?m=1
i suggest to us railings, baby gate.
Hi, Try Chicken wire if a small dog around the base. If a big dog, then you need to build a high fence around it.
Depends on the size of the dog. Does it tear stuff down or just escape from the deck?
You want something that the dog can't squeese between and something strong. I got some chicken wire on steriods. It looks like chicken wire the pattern at least but is thicker then normal. Was with the fencing at Lowes. But don't forget to reinforce the gate area also.
