A simple basket can have so much potential so, I decided to turn this dollar tree basket into a more modern one with just a couple of supplies.

First you will need a basket.

This one is from Dollar Tree plus.

Then, you want to pick up some Nautical rope this one you can find at Dollar Tree

2 packs will be enough for this basket.

Then you want to unravel the nautical rope until you have 3 sections.

Once you have the 3 pieces make sure you keep them twisted therefore try not to move them alot before you begin.

Once they have been unraveled

Start with the end of the nautical rope and hot glue it to the back of the handle of the basket.

Cut off any excess of rope if any.

Then start twisiting it while keeping a tight grip and folding it over and under the basket.

Once you are done wrapping the entire handle you will need to hot glue it to close it.

Now finished with the handles, I did four rows at the bottom of the basket by simply hot gluing

Them.

If you run out of the nautical rope as you're wrapping it around the basket just continue by adding another piece of nautical rope and proceed by wrapping it.

Once you are done with your basket, you can add some beautiful flowers.

Mines are from Hobby Lobby and Michaels craft store.

I just inserted them into my basket no hot glue needed, that way I can always change them.

This is how it will look once finished.

Happy crafting.

I did something similar with an old red straw purse I bought in Mexico, years ago. Unfortunately I cou k don't hang on m y door so it hangs on my back porch. Gets a few comments and cute.

This one is a little big to for my door but in an entry way as decor would look nice as well.

By the way that is a nice idea I'm pretty sure it looks lovely.
