How to Make a Scarecrow Face Wreath Out of Dollar Tree Items
I saw this pumpkin wreath frame at Dollar Tree, and I remembered that I had a burlap chili sack. So, I figured I would put the chili sack to good use and make a scarecrow face wreath!
- Pumpkin wreath frame
- Burlap sack
- Black felt
- Orange felt
- Black twine
- Fall leaves
- Fall flower
- Fall ribbon
- Fall material
- Foam board
- Hot glue
- Glue gun (not shown)
1. Cut the burlap
I cut the burlap sack to fit the pumpkin frame.
2. Attach the burlap
I hot-glued the burlap to the frame. I used small clamps to hold it in place.
3. Glue black twine
I followed the section lines on the frame to hot glue the black twine to reflect the pumpkin sections.
4. Make the scarecrow's hat
I cut a triangle from foam board, 8 inches wide by 10 inches tall, for the hat. I covered the triangle with black felt.
5. Attach the hat
I used an 18 inches long by 4 inches tall piece of black felt to make the hat's brim. I attached it to the foam board and held it in place with clamps.
6. Make the scarecrow's hair
I used raffia for the scarecrow's hair.
7. Make the eyes, nose, and mouth
I cut two, 2 1/2 inch ovals from black felt for the eyes. I cut a 2 1/2 inch triangle with orange felt for the nose. I cut an 11-inch piece of black twine to use for the mouth.
8. Sew around the nose
I sewed black lines all around the orange triangle with black thread.
9. Make the patch and add flowers
I cut a piece of fall fabric 2 inches by 2 inches, for the hat patch, a Fall flower, two leaves, and a piece of ribbon to decorate the hat. I hot-glued everything to the hat.
