DIY Moss Covered Eggs

Greenery is a key element in all good home decor and one way that I love to incorporate it is with moss. I just love it! The texture, the color; it is vibrant and timeless and adds a beautiful dimension to vignettes around my home. And best of all, it’s is an easy element to use in DIY projects - which is great for me since I love to get crafty!

I'll be sharing a live tutorial of this on Monday, March 6th on HomeTalk Facebook Live! I hope you'll join me!!
As we get closer to Easter there seems to be an overabundance of plastic eggs rolling around my house. And while they are fun for my daughter to hunt in the yard, I typically don’t have much other use for them, until now! A little bit of modpodge and some moss and poof! instant Spring decor.
This is really such a simple craft, all you do is heavily coat the plastic egg with glue and then press on moss. That’s it.
Tip: I heavily coated my eggs with glue, pressed the moss on, and then let it sit for a few minutes. Then, I pressed again to help mold the moss to the egg shape. This kept the moss from sticking to my hands – something that at first seemed to keep happening because I had bits of glue on my hands.
Placed in a small bowl, the eggs immediately take on the air of a pretty nest, especially when paired with a petite concrete bird perched on top. It’s a simple scene that has a fresh spring essence to it. Little touches like this make it easy to freshen up your home decor for the season without spending loads of time or money. A perfect combination, wouldn’t you agree?!
