Hi Hometalk! I am going to share an easy home decor upcycle project that you will surely love. This is inspired by "Bassett Mirror Company Palimar Wall Mirror with Sisal Rope", a $529 mirror, and you'll be surprised that the overall cost of this project is just under $20!

I will also share a full makeover tutorial at the end of the post! So let's start!

Here is the mirror I bought at our local thrift store for $11. It's a Bombay Baseball Round Mirror and still in very excellent condition. While the sisal rope was bought from a garage sale for about $4.

To give the ropes a plain surface to adhere to, I started removing the baseball stitching off the mirror.

I picked a similar color that will blend well with the rope, so I picked a rich brown for the base color.

it is a nice idea to paint a base color before bonding the sisal rope In case there are any little gaps, This makes it appear completely natural and organic.

I used a scrapper tool to the leftover paints that are in the mirror. Holding the blade at a 15-20 degree angle, it scrapes the paint off without scratching the mirror.

Once all set, I began gluing the rope from the inside of the frame, it is best to work in sections as the glue dries quickly. I used a craft stick to press the rope really well and it prevent me to touch the hot glue.

I continued working my way around the frame, putting each piece of rope directly up against the last until it was completely covered.

And here is the finished look! For the price, it is a great accent to complete a look at any room!

It is so pretty paired with my furniture! It is also enjoyable to make!

Did you enjoy this little DIY Home Decor? I hope it inspired you!

Textured surfaces in natural colors are a hot decorating trend.

Your mirror now looks high-end and brand new. 👍️

Hi, your mirror came out lovely and I have an FYI for you for your next project that also has either window glass or another mirror. Liquid masking tape is a product you can use instead of tape or a scraper. Just paint it on and when done peel it off. :)
