Ink Effects Heart Pillow

Make your bedroom a bit romantic with this Heart Pillow. No sewing or particular painting skills are involved!
I used an old white pillow case for this project. The heart shapes are painted, then ironed onto the pillowcase.
Other supplies needed are: magenta and purple Ink Effects paint (available at the craft store), tooth picks, a watercolor brush and watercolor paper. Cut out a heart shape as desired. Trace on to the watercolor paper as a guideline for painting.
Using the watercolor brush, paint the watercolor paper with clean water. This creates a "flow" for the paint that comes next. Use one tooth pick for each color, dip it in the paint and swirl the colors around on the wet paper. The water will carry the colors around, mixing them and making interesting patterns. Let dry at least 1 hour.
Cut out the hearts, place them painted side face down on a 100% cotton pillow case. Iron them with warm iron 3-5 minutes, keeping the iron moving and not scorching the fabric. Peel the paper off, and your design will have transferred on the pillow. More tips on the blog. The paint is machine washable and dry able.
