What is the gift itself?
I like to wrap special gifts in cloth. You can use diaper pins to hold the cloth in place. The cloth itself can be a gift too (baby blanket, spit up-cloth). As for a bow, you can use a teething wring or two!
Have fun!
Hi Glyna,
Use a Baby Towel or Blanket? A Basket, etc. and a Big Bow!
This takes some time but it’s the best gift idea I’ve ever used and it went over great at the shower. I have only one daughter so, of course, I have hundreds of baby pictures of her scanned into my computer. When she had her first child, (i.e. my first grandchild), I made the wrapping paper for her shower gift out of all the baby pictures of her I could find. You can print them off on regular paper and paste it onto the box. That’s the easy way. Or you can get creative and create a PowerPoint making each picture any size you like. I used wallet size because I had so many great pictures but you could do 5x7, 8x10 or even a collage. I printed my pictures on AVERY FULL LABELS. I love those things and use them for everything because you can cut them to fit. Since this took time and some expense, I purchased a nice box with a sturdy gift box with a lid and wrapped the box and lid separately so that she could open the gift without damaging the pictures. Just an idea.

Oh what fun a baby gift can be! You can buy a plastic baby bathtub and load it with supplies then wrap in a receiving blanket. Here's some other ideas that may help you with wrapping whatever you've chosen as a gift.

You could wrap it in diapers but tie them with ribbon so they could be used
Hi Glyna, how about using creatively tied cloth diapers and receiving blankets

Depends on the size of the gift. You could place in in a toy baby crib, toy stroller, or other toy baby furniture.
One idea I've tried is using a baby blanket as the wrapping paper. It's not only cute but also practical for the parents. You can tie it with a pretty ribbon or add some baby-themed embellishments. Another idea is to use a small baby bathtub or a cute baby basket as the "gift box" and fill it with baby essentials or toys. And here's an article on how to get free baby stuff, so you can share it with parents. Babies are expensive these days!
Wrap it in a terry Baby towel!
Depending on the size of the gift, you could wrap in diapers, receiving blanket, bath towel, etc. If a smaller size gift, you can make your own personalized wrapping paper using photocopies of family pics, ink stamps, favorite baby sayings or rhymes, etc. Some people get very clever with folding of diapers, etc., into soft baby carriages, toys, etc. So much fun!
