Boho Chandelier
Love Anthropologie's Boho Tassel Chandelier but not the price? You can make your own for only $30!
Wrap a string around a 5x7 frame 30 times
Place the string at the bottom of the frame and wrap the string around the frame 30 times (vertically). The end of the string should end at the bottom of the frame.
Tip: Use an old frame as the fabric sheers will scratch the frame pretty badly.
Cut bottom string after wrapping frame
Cut the bottom string with the fabric sheers.
Tie a knot at the top of the frame
Take a 10 inch string and slide it under the string bunch and bring it to the top of the frame (opposite of where the string falls). Tie a knot twice at the top of the frame.
Cut all strings at bottom of frame to make tassel
Move the yarn at the bottom of the tassel so it's even in length on each side
Make an upside down loop
The top string of the loop will be short and the bottom string will be long.
Hold the loop down with thumb
Wrap long string around tassel three times
Take long string and slip it under and through the loop
Hold the loop down and pull the short (top) string tight to make a knot
Tassel is complete!
The knot should lay flat.
Continue to make tassels and lay them down around each of the rings
I made a total of 92 tassels to go around all of the rings.
A completed ring should look like this
Tie the tassels to all three rings.
Cut 9 pieces of string (eight inches each)
Tie medium hoop to large hoop
Tie hoops together in three places. Make sure to space out evenly between the tassels.
Tie small hoop to medium hoop
Tie hoops together in three places. Make sure to space out evenly between the tassels.
Flip everything over
If you haven't already, cut off any excess string and fluff the tassels.
Tie the chain to the outside loop
Take three chains (10 inches each) and tie each chain to the outside large hoop with string. Tie the chains in the same spaces as the hoops were tied together.
Then, take a three foot length of chain (or whatever you prefer) and open end link, link to other three chains and close end link.
Attach light or battery operated light to the chandelier!
Hang your chandelier!
