DIY Painted Pillow With Braided Trim #createandshare

I am so excited to be joining with 15 other bloggers this month in a challenge! We all received pillow stencil cuts and were giving free range to create whatever we wanted on our pillow! I decided to make a neutral colored fall pillow that I could keep out for the entire season.
I purchased a rose gold metallic fabric paint from Michael's, braided jute trim, and then used the materials provided by the kit.
Using the stencil, I rolled on the paint evenly until I had the coverage I desired. The stencil provided extremely crisp lines and the paint dried so nicely.
I love the slight metallic sheen. In the light, you can see the metallic finish even more. It is hard to photograph!
Using hot glue, I affixed the trim all around the edges. I used lots of glue and pressed down in each section, making sure to work quickly before the glue dried. Since i don't plan on washing the pillow, I was fine with using hot glue. I would recommend fabric glue if you were planning to wash the pillow if it was going to get heavy usage. Since mine is decorative, I didn't think that necessary! I love how the pillow turned out! See my blog post to check out the finished product, see links to all the other blogger's pillows, AND sign up for a giveaway to win 1 of 3 pillow stencil kits!
