Dollar Tree Boho Vase

Dollar Tree is my favorite place to gather supplies for inexpensive DIY projects! This was a decor piece I was able to put together pretty quickly using only a couple of items. I tried to put a boho spin on this one and I hope you enjoy it!

These 3 materials are all you will need! Look for a long slender vase which will work best for this project. I got mine at Dollar Tree, but a thrift store would also be an inexpensive option.

Start by hot gluing the bamboo skewers at the very bottom of the vase, flat end down. I only applied glue about 1/2" long. You will want the majority of the skewer to be "loose".

Once you have glued skewers around the whole vase, gather the top in your hand and cut off all of the excess so they are flush with the top.

Take a piece of thin twine or string and tie off the skewers together at the top. You will want to double knot and tie as tightly as you can.

Use your thicker twine or rope and start gluing it down at the bottom. I didn't wrap around very high, just enough to cover the glued portion. You will want to do this on both ends of the vase. For the top section I actually glued all the way to the top and inside slightly to give it a completely seamless look.

You could add in live flowers, but I went the route of faux greens. Pampas grass would also be a great option to complete a boho look!

Was the vase a simple cylinder or was there a tapering in, then back out at the top? Either way, I like it very much. I have several vases I am going to try this on. Thank you!!!
