Got an Old Styrofoam Box? Make It Into A Planter!

I usually make planters out of hypertufa, which is a mixture of cement, pea tmoss, and perlite. And I have even made the draped fabric hypertufa planters. But I have recently come across a way to make planters out of a Styrofoam box which would ordinarily be discarded and fill up the landfill, wasting something which could be used in the garden.
These could also be used for indoor plants and end up being very portable and easy to carry around. I don't know about you, but I am constantly moving things in my garden and inside the house. Drives my husband crazy!
I have all the details on my blog which you can visit from the link I will provide. I made a video to help understand. But it is so easy to do, you won't have any trouble, I am sure. http://www.thehypertufagardener.com/almost-hypertufa-trough-styrofoam-box-no-way/
I have these texturized and they are ready to paint with latex paint. One of these can be made in one day and plant up the next. Paint them any color you like to compliment you decor. I tried to sponge mine to look like granite and marble. Use your imagination. Hop over and take a look.
This is what mine looked like finished. I really love them. I have had them outside in snow, ice, rain....no problem. One of mine did sit a little too close to the sidewalk and....unfortunately, it didn't win in the battle against the Snowblower! But the rest are fine! I have done a little touch up in paint a few times, but they really add color, don't you think?

My mom has MS and gets her medication syringes in these styro boxes every month. Dad keeps the empty ones in the basement. I shall soon visit them.... Thanks so much for this.
