I came across this fantastic idea on how to create your own cracked glass beads which you can use for crafts. I thought I'd give it a try and share it with you!

All you need to do is place some glass beads from Dollar Tree in the oven at 325 for about 20 minutes- they come out great!
First, pre heat your oven at 325. Then when it is all ready, place your glass beads on a baking tray in the oven for 20 minutes.
While the beads are in the oven, place a pot of water in the freezer. After 20 minutes, take the beads out of the oven and put them in the cold water straight away. You will hear them crack!
This is what they look like when done . I put them on a towel to dry .
Then I used E6000 to glue them on a Spray painted Tuna can . This will house my SD cards near my computer .
Suggested materials:
  • Dollar tree Glass Beads , E6000 recycled Tuna can Krylonspray paint   (Dollar Tree and Local Ace Hardware store)
  • Glass Beads spray paint

When I was a teenager, we would "fry" marbles in a skillet and drop them into cold tap water. Can't remember what we made with them.
