Light Fixture Update for $20!

When we moved into our home, one of the items I wasn't a fan of was our dining room light. It just wasn't my style.

But I didn't want to take it down I just wanted to give it a makeover. So here's what I did.
I happened to find this really large shade at HomeGoods on Clearance and inspiration struck.
I hated the distressed brass on the fixture, it just looked dirty to me. I didn't want the hassle of taking it down and spray painting it so I painted it with Chalky Finish Paint in Relic.
I purchased small chain from Lowes and attached them to the light fixture and shade using small jewelry jump rings.
I love the way ended up. It's more my style, and also the lighting is less harsh when sitting at the table.

Great idea. What color and brand of paint are your walls? Pretty.
