Are you talking about fall decor or shiplap on the walls
A picture would be helpful.
Do you want to paint the wall or add some decor to dress it up?
Add some art work.
You can change the decor on the mantal or paint the all as a feature wall.
Hi! If you go to Home Goods, you can find VERY large and unique pieces... don't forget to look in clearance!!!
A piece from an architectural salvage place might be nice.
Hello. I think a great piece of art is perfect for fireplace. You might consider garage sale thrift stores or consignment shops to get an economical piece of art that might suit your decor
You could do a gallery wall of photos of places you've visited, etc.
Hi Sandra. I think a large piece of architecture would be a great conversation starter. Perhaps an old iron gate, an ornate fence panel, a door (cut in half), different sizes of old picture frames, or something just as big and grand. I'm sure you could find something at a local salvage yard. You can also layer your piece. Something like the word "Family" attached on to the iron gate. Good luck Sandra.
Hi! I'm glad you aren't asking about mounting a tv over it! I think artwork and seasonal decor would look fabulous ! Stay safe!
art work with even a light to highlight it; you could use stone or shiplap on that wall up to the ceiling height; https://www.onekingslane.com/live-love-home/fireplace-mantel-decor-ideas/
I always vote for a dramatic mirror over a fireplace. It opens the space up and reflects light in the room. As far as it being a conversation piece, you could either make a very unique frame or find a very cool mirror...the options are endless...
A big clock, or metal works. Kirklands, Home Goods, At Home have some beautiful pieces
Hello Sandra,
Mount on the wall a sculpture, maybe an old piece of junk that has an interesting shape etc. Sounds as if you are going to have fun looking for something, or why not make something yourself from odd buts and pieces and paint it....
Hi Sandra, hope this helps you out

Suggest varies sized metal Wall decor, letters, symbols. Because heat from the fireplace (heat rises) will not harm metal, as it can other material.
Can use various alphabet letters of the homeowners name. The choices are endless.
Add a large piece of artwork (painting or sculpture).
