Spring is here, flowers and birds vibes are everywhere! How can’t you not get inspired though?!!!

since we moved to my new house, I didn’t touched the walls. I wanted to color them with cool colors or funky wallpaper but I didn’t dare honestly! Finally, I found a beautiful cherry blossom wall decals and decided to put them in my daughter’s room.

I had three wooden multicolored shadow boxes that I got them from Michael’s long long time ago. They were hanging in my daughter’s room with no style. I decided to make out of them a piece of art, if we can say that lol!

I used from my husband’s garage tools all purpose joint compound to make a texture inside the shadow boxes. I painted them and added some cherry blossom stems. Let’s see the details!

shadow box is the ideal for this project, but a simple picture frame can be used as well. I’ve got those frames from Michael’s long time ago the yep were in clearance, so I saved them for a future project like the one of today.

Any joint compound can work here. I used this one shown in the picture above.

I spread the paste on the inside of the shadow box and kept the outside frame intact.

I let them dry for 4 hours approximately.

Then I painted them with a semi gloss white paint that I had in the garage as well.

After the frames were completely dry, I used hot glue and a stem of cherry blossom that I’ve got from Michael’s as well and I cut them in small stems to glue them gently in the shadow box.

That way we’ve got a 3D frame that is homogeneous with the cherry blossom wall decalS.
