DIY Wall Art Redesign With Woodubend Mouldings

I created this beautiful wall art from a barn quilt that I had made a few years ago and just never really loved it.

Before you start giving me slack for redesigning this piece, please hear me out. My home is a combination of shabby chic with a hint of vintage so this didn't really fit the space. But it was great while it lasted

I started this project with a base coat of Paint Couture Shale Stone and then did a paint wash with Paint Couture Artic White. I then added this gorgeous woodubend centerpiece Wub1266 AKA-Big Momma that is what I have dubbed this gorgeous centerpiece.

I added these gorgeous woodubend Scrolls (Wubx1019) painted with the same technique of Paint Couture Shale Stone and paint washed with Paint Couture Artic White.

I used tightbond quick and thick to adhere the woodubend mouldings to my piece.

When you apply heat to woodubend mouldings they become pliable and will mould to whatever surface you are applying them to. How great is that? They will curve around edges, mould around corners, you name it, you can do it with these mouldings.

I use an artist brush to spread the tightbond evenly over the surface of the mouldings. Using this technique reduces the amount that spills out when you have adhered your moulding to your project. You can also use a clean damp artist brush to clean up any edges of glue that have spilled out.

Once your mouldings are in place use painters tape, low tack or remove some of the tackiness by dabbing it on a cloth, this will keep the moulding in place but not peel your paint off when removing the tape.

This beauty is now hanging back above my bed and I truly love it now. I love the beauty of these mouldings and how a few appliques can change the design of something that was pretty basic.
