So for Christmas I decided I wanted to make my hubby a vintage football jersey box frame as this jersey was from the year he was born!!

so off to ikea I went to get a big box frame & here’s how I did it!

I picked this size as I didn’t want anything too big but wanted it big enough to see most of the Jersey

I took it apart to paint it as the jersey was white so I wanted the frame to stand out

I picked a dark grey from fusion mineral paints my go to paints!!!!

First coat - very good coverage in fusion paint this is one of the reasons I love it!!!

I made sure to paint the inside of the frame too as that will be seen when the jersey goes inside

I painted the insert too

As you will see a small

bit of this at the top & again the contrast of the grey against the white is what I want

Second coat on the frame

I just placed the jersey where I wanted it

Made sure I was happy before I started to staple it

Turn it around fold it neatly in place and staple the back

I also then put it back in the frame and checked I was happy with it before stapling it more

And here it is finished!

hope you guys like it!

For anyone wanting to recreate the project, an option to painting the entire backing board would be to cover just the sections that will show through with black (or contrasting color) wrapping paper.
