I found an interesting salvaged "lattice" and was inspired to make it into something decorative for my front porch.
I visited a newly opened salvage and antiques business. I just really liked this for some reason and it inspired me.
I have lots of odds and ends of spray paints so I searched.
Sorry I don't have a before picture but I had this metal butterfly that was just boring brown, so I painted red and then bronze for highlights. Also sprayed some clear sealer over it.
I got this chalkboard plaque for half price at Joann's using a coupon.
I added the same red (Americana Acrylics) that I had on hand for the bare wood and used the kid's sidewalk chalk
I used E6000 and some small finishing nails to put it all together. I haven't sealed the chalkboard yet but my husband thought it might be fun to change the greeting once in a while (Like "Happy 4th of July")
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Various spray paints (mostly at Lowe's)
- Metal butterfly (On clearance at Hobby Lobby)
- "Lattice" (Salvage dealer)
- Chalkboard (Joanne's with coupon)
