Here is a simple welcome sign anyone can make.
I started with an old board that had marks on it and stains.

Then I marked were the letters and snow flake were to go

I liked the look of it but wanted to make it a bit more rustic or dated. So I used Folkart antiquing medium, to which some water, about 1:4, was added. I brushed the mixture on the board, wiping away the excess with paper towel. The out side got a second coat for more debt.

I then glued the letters on the board with a hot glue gun.

Everything was sealed with two coats of clear varnish, I used Krylon. When all was done I decorated the sign with Christmas decorations. I did this in such a way that the could easily be removed and other seasonal decorations could be added.
Finished shabby chic wwelcome sign!
