Faux Leopard Paint Finish

This month's THEMED FURNITURE MAKEOVER challenge was "ANIMAL", and I actually had the gumption to try to replicate a faux leopard finish.
You can see the finish I was going for in my sunglasses.
This is the little table that I began with. A little scuffed up but good bones.
I began with a buttery yellow base coat and then used glaze to add the finish on top.
Clear glaze manages to turn acrylic paint into semi-transparent almost water-colour like paint. I would never have given this finish a try if I hadn't found this.
Here are the basic steps, but you do need a good large soft brush to fan out your spots for the underlying base.
And here it is all finished.
I'm happy with the way it turned out. I wouldn't recommend trying to do a mirror effect for your first try though. If you would like more details on how to get this finish you can find them on my blog
