Coleus needs to be kept rather dry to avoid root rot. Since they are tropical, I would think pull them in and put in a bathroom with a window.
Geraniums need to be brought in before first frost.
Hopefully you have both in pots and moving will be a simple task.

here is some info

You will need to bring them in for winter or they will freeze. Geraniums can be overwintered by digging them up and shaking the soil off the roots. Place them in open paper bags in a cool, dark location for the winter. In the spring, they can be replanted. Here's a link with more information:

you can dig up the gernaniums and wrap them in newspaper and store them for winter. The Coleus should re-seed itself. It will die back.
Depends on where you live. Here in Pennsylvania the winters will kill them. You can bring them in and treat them like houseplants. Impatiens and geraniums will flower all winter inside.
Hello Earlene,
Take them up. If you have somewhere in the home you can display them - Pot them up and enjoy them indoors. If not, but you have a green house, put the Geraniums in there and let them dry out for the winter. Or if you only have a shed , cut the Geraniums down and let them dry out for the winter. You could use the trimmings as cuttings if you have the space to keep them. None of the plants will survive if we have a really hard Winter unless they are protected with Fleece or Newspaper and or bubble wrap, but to date, over the years, I have managed to save many more than I loose . Best wishes. Happy gardening.
What Zone are you in Earlene? I an in Zone 9b and mine are in ground or pots outside year round. Will die back if we get a cold snap, but they always bounce right back in Spring.
It depends on where you live. In warm climates, no need to dig up. Keep well fertilized and if you know of a frost possiblility cover them.
Geraniums are pretty hardy plants, we are in Maryland and just bring them into the garage to overwinter. Water them with a minimal amount of water, since the roots are established, they are on low maintenance. Coleus are easy if they die back, they re-seed and grow for you in the spring after no chance of frost.

Winterizing Coleus: How To Overwinter Coleushttps://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/coleus/overwintering-coleus.htm
How to Keep Your Geraniums Over Winter (Its Easy & Frugal)
Lay a layer of 6 to 8 inches (15-20 cm.) of wood chips or straw over perennial and flower beds. Protect outdoor plants in winter with screens or frames erected on the southwest side and make sure to water before a freeze. Wet soils prevent freeze injury to roots because moist soil holds more heat than dry soil.
Hello. That is the broad question without having enough information to give a clear answer. It depends where you live as these plans may not survive OUTDOORS in certain temperatures over winter. I am in zone 7 and both these two plants will not survive the winter time temperatures.
Additionally for the best local professional advice
I would highly suggest contacting your cooperative extension. These offices are manned by volunteer master gardeners on site there waiting to answer the communities questions that know your local situation quite well.
Master gardeners are required to volunteer back designated hours ( plus continuing education) each year to maintain MG certification -this community outreach and education is their goal.
If your office is closed....there Might be alternative online venues like Ask an Expert as well as emailing your local master gardeners extension office for their guidance.... in a non contact manner.
