Get a head start on next Summers garden. I show you some great perennials and biennials you can start in Fall. You will get flowers sooner!
Many perennials and biennials need a full season before blooming. So why not get a head start and sow your seeds in Fall to get blooms by next Summer.
I show you several that I grew from seed in my very own garden.
There are even many annual seeds you can start in the cool Fall weather that will overwinter just fine and sprout for you in Spring.
Shirley Poppies are a good one. I have them growing along side a street where the dirt is poor.
Echinacea or Coneflower is another easy one to grow from seed, along as it is not a sterile hybrid. Make sure to purchase coneflower seed from a reliable source, I have seen many hybrid seeds being sold on eBay and elsewhere that are from sterile plants.
Black eyed susies are a favorite and easy to grow. They deliver bright color to your garden when other flowers are fading in the heat. If dead headed regularly they will perform until first frost.
Daisies and larkspur are also summer favorites that start easily from seed direct sown in your garden. Plus they make wonderful bouquets.
I show you more of my garden flowers on my website of what you can sow in Fall for a fabulous Summer garden.

Many don't realize you can grow perennials from seed and get blooms the first year. If you wait until Spring to plant many of these then you have to wait another year for flowers.
