How to Hang a Hammock With One Tree

What's not to love about hammocks? Oh yeah - the installation! When I was faced with the challenge of how and where to put up my new hammock, it became painfully clear that my farm does not have two perfectly spaced trees. Bring on the one (or none) tree tutorial for hanging a hammock!
Note: this is based on my hammock (purchased from Lowe's) which had the WORST directions for hanging a hammock that isn't on a metal frame. I measured 12 feet from the tree that I was going to use as my anchor to the spot where the anchor post would go. My husband and dad were in charge of drilling the hole and setting the post.
The post was set with quick setting concrete and left alone for one week. I then added mulch and some pretty flowers to make the concrete area around the post a little more appealing.
Using the provided hardware, my dad and I attached the anchor rings and worked with the height of the hammock. Let me just say that there are NO DIRECTIONS for the exact measurement of the anchor rings.
Once the hammock was done it was time to kick back and enjoy. Did you know that they come with perfect can holders? For full details and measurements - check out the full tutorial on my site!
