DIY Garden Tote

As a gardener, I like to carry all of the tools I need in one handy tote when I head to the garden. I also like repurposed projects, so this DIY Garden Tote fit the bill.
Gathering up everything I needed. I headed to my work table. An old box that cost me $5.00 at our local flea market, and an old hand drill. Now, if you go to the antique market, they sell for $15.00-$20.00. No way am I paying that, so when I found two of these old drills for $3.00 a piece, I knew I had scored a bargain.
First I needed to attach the old drill to the sides of the box. You need to measure your drill ends to be sure they will fit across the box and can be attached to use as a handle. These clamps are at your local hardware store. They are usually in the electrical department. They are used to hold metal pipe to a wall, building, and electrical conduit is threaded through the pipe. These are 1".
I wanted them to look a little older, so I painted them with a brown craft paint, just giving them one coat, so that it wouldn't look too painted. I then attached them with screws using a hand drill.
Since it's not the time for gardening in Georgia, I filled it with a gardening book, and terra cotta pots to use as a decorative piece in my office. It could also be used to hold pots of flowers, or planted with hens and chicks.
This is my friend Sandra's repurposed box filled with succulents.
An old horseshoe was added for décor.
