Computer Monitor Riser for My Desk

I needed some extra room on my desk for my setup, I am a bit of hybrid, I enjoy gaming, production work, and of course blogging, so I figured I would get me a computer monitor riser, and as is the case with a couple of other projects, everything I came across looks super cheap, plasticky if that's even a word. Since I built my desk I figured it was apropo for me to build the riser. I am super happy and have lots and lots of additional room. I'm into this project about 25 bucks, that's because I brought the top panel already assembled and ready for a finish, and I brought poplar for the draw fronts, other than than I made the rest of the riser out of scrap wood. check out more pics of this build on my blog www.blogarican.com
Here it is ready for some painting and finishing, as you can see from the finished pic, I went with a black top and stain the draws.
dry fitting all the components after I built the draws. truth be told the draws were more of an afterthought
YES the draws fit!!!!
As you can see the wood I used was scrap these pieces had huge nail holes that I patched.
