Mixing Things up in My New Kitchen- Upcycling & Repurposing

We recently remodeled our kitchen. We used a mix of old and new to create a playful and eclectic look. Our new kitchen is light and bright and just our style :)
We purchased the cupboards at Ikea. For the island we used 2 sets of lower cupboards back to back. That made for a very large top. My husband glued together 2 butcher block counters cut to size.

Island cupboards...IKEA, Gray, Lindigo

Butcher block counter top...stained a light honey and a glossy poly.

Adjustable stools...Target, Threshold
A small wall was removed to create a lighter brighter kitchen.
AFTER...and I finally got the farm sink I have been dreaming of.
We removed the U shaped counter to open up the space too.
Much more counter and cupboard space now.

Kitchen cupboards...IKEA, White, Lindigo

Kitchen counter Tops...Corinthian Solid Surface, Coliseum

Walls...Colonial Cobblestone
We used two stacked upper cupboards to create a narrow pantry cupboard in an awkward corner space.
We moved the coffee station...
...to make room for a more functional "Mommy Central".
And a rarely used sitting area...
...became a craft and homework station for the kids.

Picnic table...Target

Pillows and Placemats...H&M Home
A few of the repurposed details...an old candy display turned oil rack.
Minnow basket turned light fixture using a pendant lamp kit from Menards.
Pickle jars turned pendant lights using the same pendant kit. We used a clear 40 watt bulb and drilled holes in the lid so it wouldn't get too hot.
And we used vintage yardsticks and license plates as unexpected accents throughout.
Chipping with Charm, Laurel
