How to fix laminate countertop?

Might be an idea to remove that section, Let it dry out or gouge out the wet damaged and leave to dry, then use a waterproof filler to fill the back. Re attach and seal with a waterproofed sealer. You could also decide to use a contrast tile in place of this upturn.

Remove the backsplash completely. You can buy ceramic tile to fit. Any gaps can be covered with decorative corner or bullnose tile.

Hello. Likely the water has caused the compressed wood to swell likely rot and mold. The backsplash and will need to be removed and replaced.

That’s a growing water problem and soon it will be the countertop not just the backsplash.

Quit using that sink and dry that area out with a hairdryer on low.

You can do the tile like William wrote, but you must use thin set & grout with a lot of acrylic or polymer additive and I would silicone the bottom edge after the grout has dried 2 days.

You can also buy new plastic laminate backsplash. Once again seal it very well.

you can see the mold which is caused by water so that needs to be addressed before you replace or fix the laminate

I would take the laminate off, make sure there are no existing water problems. Check for mold. Clean it well. Let it dry out. Home depot sells laminate strips, but I think the easiest way to fix would be to use subway tiles in that area.

I would take it off and replace the entire thing with a strip of painted wooden moulding. That's going to be the cheapest and easiest fix.

Once the partial board behind the laminate swells its toast. The best you can do is remove and replace with maybe ceramic tile.

That is tuff did it swell on the back if it did you need to scrap it away so it’s like the other piece so it fits flush against the wall. Then glue it back on with glue any kind will hold that small piece.

I agree that this piece will need to be pulled off and replaced with something else.

It looks like it's too far gone to be repaired unfortunately, I know that's not the answer you're looking for. You'll need to remove it and replace it with something else. Be sure to seal it up and caulk well since there's a sink there.

Can you just pop off the little backsplash bit? Is there counter under it?
