Grommet Tab Curtain Fix

I finally gave in and purchased grommet top curtains for my living room a while back but was constantly adjusting them as they ended up squished or unevenly spaced on the rod. I am not a perfectionist but when I spend money on something I want it to look nice and curtains that wouldn't stay put drove me nuts!
How can I keep them evenly spaced; from being pushed flat? My solution was to purchase a pool noodle for $1 at the Dollar Store! I have used pool noodles for many things around the home and I was sure this could be my solution.
Try to get a noodle that is similar in color to your curtains or your rods. If that is not an option (as in my case) you can always paint the pieces that may show. I removed the sticker.
Next, I cut the noodle down the center, lengthwise to easily slip onto the rod when I am done.
Next, I cut my pieces into 2 inch sections. For each rod I need 8 pieces. I ended up using 2 noodles for my living room. I have 5 windows in the living room.
These little cuffs were so easy to apply. I simply slipped the sections behind each fold on the rod.
So much better! Don't you think? Evenly spaced and nothing flat or squished!
Who knew that for the price of a dollar I could be so happy?! After I finished this easy little project I realized I could have probably done the same thing with empty paper towel rolls.
Enjoyed the project?

I love this! I have grommet curtains in our bedroom and they never look even. They are on the sheer side so I may have to paint

Here in England we do ours for free with the cardboard inners from toilet rolls. Do the same as in this idea with the pool noodle but for free. They work briliantly at no cost.

Great idea!
I tried paper towel rolls and they tried to poke thru the grommet holes. I think pool noodles would be better. Thanks
Looks nice open but when you close them will they go all the way shut?
