Living in Washington, many people are surrounded by tall pines and wood burning stoves. I love the beautiful trees so I thought I'd bring something inside that reflects that. Hubby and I pulled out the chainsaw and made a quick and easy night stand with a few logs and an old piece of glass.

We started with a seasoned log and hubby's skill with the chainsaw. He cut about a 4 inch round off the top of the log. You know he really loves me when he is volunteered for a project in the SNOW no less 😍!

He then took a log and cut it into 4 pieces. Most people would think stool but we're a little bit different. I cleaned the wood with a little soap and water and once it was dry I sprayed each piece with a clear lacquer. I love the natural look but you could stain it if you wanted to. Hubby used a drill and a few 4inch wood screws and drilled them into the logs there by securing them to the round base.

Finally, I placed the glass on top of the logs and now have a neat little table that cost about $1.50!
