Oh My! I have something simply SPECTACULAR to share with you! It is literally one of the easiest and most satisfying projects I have ever done.
You can transform just about any surface, INTO BARN BOARD!
This is INCREDIBLE! We Have Never Seen This Technique Before!

My project started out just like this, only with a few scratches, and I think a puppy had used it as a chew toy at some point!
After one coat of Fusion Mineral Paint.
The first step is to prep your item with a good clean and a light sand.
Use the Wood grainer to Create Texture.
The next step was so much fun. I mixed Fusion Paint with 'Sand Stone Texture' - full details over on the blog. You will need one of these handy little Wood graining Tools - available online and in most hardware stores.
Sand Stone Texture.
If you haven't used Sand Stone, I highly recommend you try it. It creates nice lifted texture and dries hard as can be. I even have used it to create a Faux Brick wall!
Dry Brush with a light hand!
Once the Sand Stone Texture is dry, apply a very light coat of Little Stork, using a dry brush technique.
Add Black Wax
My final step was to add black wax - this is just the bee's knees! You could stop before the wax is applied since Fusion Mineral Paint is splash and scrub proof! Unlike other paint/wax combos, you can add the coloured wax right onto the paint without staining it.
So simple! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am. This even feels like barn Board when I touch it. It is hardwearing and every time I place my Tea on the table I smile to myself!
