Diy Recycling With Plastic Yogurt Bucket
Hello. Do not throw away the plastic containers in your home. Let's make a great decoration.
In this project, I used a plastic yogurt bucket. In the same way, you can use paint, fertilizer and other containers.
First, I cut off the top of the container. Please be careful at this stage. I used a utility knife to cut it. Then you can straighten the curved parts with scissors.
I painted the whole container with white acrylic paint. And I waited for it to dry.
I poured craft glue, which turns transparent when dry, on a plastic or paper plate (mod podge). I separated some of the jute rope and mixed it with glue. I recommend using gloves while doing this.
I wrap the jute rope around the plastic container. I wrap it evenly and haphazardly on all sides of the plastic container.
I wait a few hours for it to dry. It needs to dry well.
I cut the jute threads at the top of the container with scissors. So I can put anything I want in the container.
I made 2 basket handles from jute ropes. You can also use ready-made products.
I glue the basket handles to the plastic container with a glue gun.
I glued both handles. And it looks like this.
I made a hair braid with jute rope.
I attach this braid to the hard area on the rim of the container. This way it will both look good and be safe.
And ready. I tried to explain this in detail with images. But if you want to see and do it in more detail, you can also watch the video I have attached below. The video also has subtitles. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
You can use it both as a basket and as a flower pot. You can also apply varnish last. If you want to use it as a flower pot, do not forget to make a few holes in the bottom of the container.
I hope you try :)

I liked the idea. As far as I know, you can find these yogurt containers (2000 gr. and 3000gr.) only in Turkey. I'm not sure if the same containers are found in other countries. However, I believe you can use the same idea with similar (smaller or larger) containers.
ONE MORE THING: I used one of these buckets for another project removing (cutting out) the rim but it didn't work out. After a while, the top edge of the bucket started to tear around and I had to throw it away.
I wouldn't suggest removing the rim when you have a chance to use one of these buckets. Remove the handle only IF necessary. ENJOY!
