DIY Face Planter Using Plastic Bottle
Upcycling plastic reduces the amount of waste that gets to the landfills. Using this waste plastic into something creative, not only helps the environment to reduce it's waste, but also helps us to be a little more creative in using our ideas to beautify our garden.
Step1:Rinse the bottle and let it dry.
Step2 : Cut the bottle into half or any height you want to give the planter.
Step3: To make the nose of the face planter, take a newspaper or any other paper make a small ball by crumpling the paper.
Step4 :After the paper ball is ready wrap the paper ball with paper tape.
Step5 :Once the paper ball is wrapped to the paper tape place it to a position as shown with the help of paper tape.
Add some more paper tape so that the nose doesn't move and remain in place.
Step6: Now stick some pieces of tissue paper with the help of glue as shown, this is done to strengthen the nose. Once done leave it to dry.
Step7: Once dried it's time to colour, add your favourite colour to make it look the way you like. I have used Matt Chalk Acrylic Paint in the shade Sailing Sky.
After drying it's time to paint the nose. For the nose I have used red Poster Colour.
Step8: Once completely dried it's time to draw eyes and mouth I have used black permanent marker for drawing.
I have used white Poster Colour for the teeth to make it look white.
I have made another planter using the same method and made it's eyes and mouth look different.
Face Planter is Ready!!
This planter can be used in 3 ways;
- You can make a hole at the bottom and plant your favourite plant in the planter.
- Without making any hole to the planter, add water and some plant cuttings making it a propagating planter.
- Can directly add potted vase and let water drain in the planter itself.
