Easy Moss Covered Flamingos
How many of you have these flamingos in your yard? I figured out a great way to add some character to these flamingos and I love them. These would look perfect by a backyard pond, but until I have one, my tire planter will have to do.
You can find these flamingos everywhere, but I grabbed these from the dollar store.
You are going to make a mixture of moss and Outdoor Mod Podge. There is no science to this. Start with a little of both and mix.
The moss needs to be completely covered in Mod Podge.
Brush the mixture onto clean, dry flamingos and set aside to dry. I set mine aside for an entire night, so I'm not sure how long it actually takes these to dry.
This is what the flamingos will look like when the moss hardens and dries. I love how these look and definitely plan on picking up more flamingos next time I go out.
Add the legs and enjoy indoors or out! If you are using your flamingos outdoors and are worried about the elements, you can spray with a clear sealer or add another layer of Mod Podge and let dry.
Since we are all spending so much time at home, I think it's important to surround ourselves with things that make us happy and smile. If you have something that you don't necessarily love, figure out a way to change it up.
Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Will the poss continue to grow, or does the glue inhibit that and make it so that the moss eventually bleaches out?
Thanks
I have gloss Mod Podge can I use this as I actually have everything else on hand
