Advice to modernize exterior?

Love suggestions on how to modernize my home! Thought about limewash stone, change porch & of course color.. curb appeal. What style house is this? No plants near door due to water puddles there after rain. Of course replace rotten wood.
Maybe add a new walkway with modern pavers. Paint the shutters or the exterior

Not sure what you mean by "modernize". Do you mean changing colors to what is trending now? Love the stone entryway. I would consider filling area where puddles form and putting in walkway that matches the stone porch.
choose a paint color for shutters and door to liven it up- add flower pots and flowers and trim back shrubs- it depends on what you are trying to do and what your preferences are

To modernize it remove the shutters, and paint the house a brighter color. You could paint the entire front door alcove, including the stone, a lighter color.
I would take out all the hedge.
It's a Ranch. Remove the shutters. Paint the entry stones a lighter color. paint the door a bright color. Remove the hedges. Create a raised garden bed with landscape blocks. Plant tall arborvitae on the sides and in between the windows. On the right and left. Low perennials under the windows. Some ideas to take away.

This is a ranch, I believe Mid Century Modern design (MCM Ranch). I would add some colorful pots with plants, puddles won't bother those. Consider adding an extension on your porch. It appears you need the paint freshened up and the eaves & shutters as well.

It's a classic ranch style as others have said. If you want to modernize it, you could remove those shutters and paint the house. However, if you want to change the style of the ranch you could replace the windows. Depends on the style you like....
Looks like a ranch and I love this look. Bring some color in by painting your front door and colorful pots and plants.
I have seen customized shutters and they are so cute. You can make a cut out that displays your personality. If you are a dog person a dog siloutte, flowers, etc. the same.

I think the house would look great painted white with black trim. You can add a pop of color to the front door.

You've got yourself a ranch there. The stones are considered "modern" so I'd leave those be personally. If you can refresh the siding with a new color, try that and paint the shutters. Some downlighting or uplighting makes for a simple yet dramatic upgrade. Reworking your landscaping would have a nice impact without making many changes to the house itself.
Can you paint the window frames? Black windows are stylish right now.
Ranch Style - Leave stone as is, Paint walls darker colour and paint shutters white or use one of the colours of the stone to paint your shutters. (maybe the Gold/Amber colour).Raise the porch floor with Duckboards and then you will be able to decorate using plants and one's feet will not get wet!
Yes, the exterior of your house could use updating to bring it back to life and increase its curb appeal. Presently, it lacks definition as to where the entry to the house clearly is. I would extend the roof line to make a portico and extend the front step coming out from the front door. This would break up the strong vertical roof line and add interest to the outline of the home.
I would also take out the little shrubs that IMO are planted way to close to the house and appear to be glued up against the building.
Take out the straight line walkway, and install a curved one that meanders past the windows and across the lawn on the right of the property.

I love the idea of a portico thought about taking the casement windows and replacing them just not sure of what style. The front door is new and I love it maybe just painting it a brighter color. House looks very nice. Needs a pop of colour. How about a very large pot in turquoise near the door.
