My son is home schooled and is often forgetting when his work needs to be in for marking. So, this will hopefully fix the problem!
I started by making sure the wall was clean. Then I used painter's tape to mask off the edges. I masked off the corners and the top. I went only as high as the door frame.
Next, I gave the paint tin a real good shake, then I stirred it and began to paint. The good thing about chalkboard paint is that you don't need to be super neat about the direction you paint in. Don't forget to tape off power points!
Then I let it dry before a 2nd coat. (I waited overnight) I was rally impressed with how neat and tidy it all came out. It is such a lovely, even black! I then removed the painter's tape which revealed a nice, clean edge. I left it to dry overnight once again. then, to prep it, I colored the entire wall with chalk. Then, clean it all off. This ensures that your future markings will erase properly.
My son loves his new school wall! School has just started again here in Australia, so we will put this wall to good use!
