On this Project I used the Wonderful Unicorn Spit Gel Stain. I used a wide variety of colors. Sparkling SPiT will be available soon also. This Stain is extremely user friendly. If you don't like what you have designed you can wash it off and go again. When you are ready to keep the design you use an OIL BASED SEALER. I have used the SPiT on many surfaces and had no problems, Wood, Plastic, Cloth, Stainless Steel, FRP, and Concrete. I work with many Adults that are Developmental Disabled, they love being creative. It has really helped many fo them open up. For the whole table I used maybe an ounce of total SPiT after watering it down. WOW
Unicorn SPiT that was used for this project were; Lemon Kiss and Pixie Punk Pink (these were not watered down), Zia Teal, Blue Thunder, Dragon's Belly, (my own mixture of Jade and Dark Gray), these all were 50% water / 50% SPiT. I used Syringes to apply the Gel Stain to the table. The SPiT smells like Jasmine. It is so relaxing. You will also need scissors to cut the drop cloth to just a little bigger than the table.
Cleaned table and made a few repairs.
I used a Palm Sander to take the old finish off.
Applied the Stain to the table.
Sprayed the Stain with a water bottle. This helps to move the stain around. (You will be using the water bottle to spray the table before the plastic and on top of the plastic)
Applied the plastic drop cloth over the table. Do your best to not have any air bubbles. Spray the plastic with water also. This helps your hands to flow across not push the SPiT. I did the STAIN PRESS. This is an Example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqqnrY80KRQ
Removed the plastic. I then used my fingers to move the middle around a little more.
Applied 3 coats of the Rust-Oleum 2x Ultra Cover GLOSS CLEAR.
Finished and ready to be sold.
